Small Changes

Things are looking good and the front yard is still nice and tidy.

The back yard? Not so much.

But this is a good sign.  A very good sign...a sign that work is being done around here.

Not huge things, but things that must be done, nonetheless.

This is the window the upstairs window that was installed, but hadn't yet been framed in around the arch.

They have framed it, but still need to install the seal and the stucco wrap around it, like this window has around the outside.

I'm sure this was a lot of work, but doesn't look like much; they installed all the grooves over the stucco mesh.  These grooves will allow the stucco to expand and contract without cracking.

Inside the house, they made adjustments to some of the framing.

In the wine room, they have shrunk one of the windows so they are both about the same size.

Also inside, they've moved and reset a couple of windows that overlook the patio.  We aren't sure why, but they are about 8 inches higher in the wall now.  They've given us access under the stairs from the front closet for storage, as well.

In the garage, it seems they are gathering supplies for the stucco base coat.

Lots of bags of stucco powder...

and shovels, a wheelbarrow & a bunch of buckets...

The basic chimney cap has been installed (I'm sure it has an official name, but I have no idea what it is).  We think it will get a pretty cap over it at some point.

I'm not sure how Santa fits through that, but I'm sure he'll find a way.

Also inside the house, they've installed the fireplace insert, the chimney pipe and the firewall.  That's what the white boards near the top of the pipe is.

I can't wait until the rest of the fireplace goes in, but I'm sure that won't be for a long time!

You can see that the game room is still missing a window.  Even with most of the windows installed and shut, the wind today was whipping in and out of the open windows and the garage today and it was freezing-I know the workers are looking forward to the weather getting warmer and staying warmer.
