Indoor Plumbing

I'm thrilled with the fact that the plumbers worked today.

I mean, there's not much I appreciate more than hot water from a faucet with just the turn of a knob and quite frankly, I'm just as fond of toilets that flush.  And just imagine how hard reselling a house these days without indoor plumbing would be?  So basically, we've got a good thing going on here-but it doesn't make for the world's most fascinating blog post and I bet these won't be award winning photos, either.

Now that I've warned you how exciting this post will be...

The garage floor is filled with a smattering of pipes and connectors.

This picture makes me wonder one thing-why doesn't this pipe just go straight up?  Why put in all those little connectors so it jags around in the wall like that?

There's a lot of zig-zagging of the pipes.

...and several spools of red and blue tubing for both the hot and cold water.

...and this picture makes me wonder why there are two hot pipes and two cold pipes coming out of the ground and then connected through a junction?

Here's the plumbing for the refrigerator.

And they are preparing the plumbing for the master bathtub.  The tubes in the wall are for the recirculating hot water heater.

Today the plumber ordered the bathtubs for the spare baths and we will order the rest of the plumbing fixtures such as the master tub, toilets and sinks later.

I'm on Spring Break, but it's not so much a break as it's a "get things done week".  This morning I went to look at wood floor samples and talked with the guy about different options for hand scraping and distressing the floors.  Tuesday, I am meeting with the builder to finalize tile choices (at least I think we will finalize them).  Shane has given me a drawer from the bedroom dresser to take with me on our tile hunt (and not a small one, I might add).  Why, you ask?  Because he wants the kitchen cabinets to be stained the color of the bedroom furniture.  Hopefully, having the drawer will help us confirm the tile choices for the kitchen.

Wednesday I'm working at school and on Thursday I've got a meeting with the guy who is making our iron railing for the stairs.

Whew, I'm already tired just thinking about my "break".
