Now We're Cooking With Gas

The outside of the house still hasn't changed very much.

But oh, such wonderful things are happening inside!

For instance...

You can see they've wired for an electric range...and plumbed for a gas range.

I am so thrilled that soon I'll be cooking with gas!

...and this is the pipe for the gas start on our wood burning fireplace.

...and the central valve for all the gas lines in the house.

Here's the mother-in-law suite bathtub...

...and the upstairs bathtub has been installed.

...and they've installed the toilet drain upstairs.  Not very glamorous, but oh, so important.

They are still running wires everywhere.

Can you even believe this?

Have you ever seen so many wires?

Apparently, the white and black wires on the left of the photo are cable and phone...the rainbow wires are for audio/visual.

That's as much as I know about the pretty colored cables.

Not only are the inside of the walls multi-colored, but the inside of the light boxes are colorful, as well.

I'm pretty sure this is will be about five light switches; but I could be wrong.

I've been wrong once or twice before.

This little fellow is a window sensor for the security system.

...and this is the speaker for the alarm that makes all that blaring noise-it's located in the eave of the roof.

Now here's some fun stuff...

The plumbers installed the gas line for the outdoor grill and the water line for the outdoor sink.

...and on the other side of the back patio you can see the power outlet in the wall for the television.

...and the ceiling has been prepped for the outdoor speakers.

Shane spent a few hours at the house today with the builders and construction workers.  Apparently, everybody had questions that needed answered in order for them to finish up the plumbing and electrical.  The goal is to have inspections completed Friday so we can begin insulation and drywall next week.

It's going to be busy for the next few days.  Tomorrow, I'm meeting at the house with the builders and the iron guy to talk about designs for the stair rail as well as the wine room iron door.  Friday we are meeting at the house to discuss which direction the doors should swing so the framer knows where to place the hinges and then we are going to look at some countertops for the powder bath.

Whew-exciting stuff!
