I met with the builder at the tile store and we actually finalized almost all of the tiles for the house. That's right, we finalized them.
Shane had seen some of the choices before and I brought home some pictures and samples of other tiles & we both agreed on them. YAY!
Things were very busy outside the house today.
The AV guys and the plumbers were hard at work even though the outside of the house looks much the same.
I was super-surprised when I walked in and saw a big change...
A bathtub!
They had almost installed the tub in the mother-in-law bathroom and this guy is using a level to make sure the upstairs tub is installed correctly.
They were still working when we left, so I suspect that this upstairs tub is now installed & no longer standing on it's end.
Although the wire situation looks under control in some places,
...the wires are multiplying like crazy in others.
When we first walked in, we noticed this guy in the rafters stringing wires. I blurred out his face just in case he didn't wish to be in our blog. ;-)
I can't figure out why they've uncovered this hole in the floor? It's been covered for weeks, but today it's wide open. My fingers are crossed that nobody falls through!
Now we've got both hot & cold water for the washing machine.
Shane explained the multiple water lines issue that I was wondering about yesterday. Since we have a recirculating hot water heater, the lines run in a giant circle so that there is always water ready on demand. I'm going to love this.
We noticed that these wires were different than all of the others. They are for the garage door openers (not that this explains why the lines are different).
...and they've run the wires for the doorbell chime...
Something else the AV guys were taking care of today was placing the brackets for the speakers. The circular bracket in the front of this pic is for one of the speakers in the kitchen ceiling, the bracket in the back is for a can light.
This is balcony & the wires you see dangling from the ceiling are for balcony speakers.
The goal for this week has been to get as much accomplished as possible on the house front. So far, I'd say that we are right on track. We've decided on cabinet colors for the kitchen, master bathroom, laundry all the other places that will have cabinets and all of the tile has been selected except kitchen backsplash.
Whew! It's really coming along now! I'm so excited for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dana-it is so much fun...I'm just loving it!
