Work is being done on the house, but there isn't much to photograph this week.
The mud guys are still hard at work. Today they were scraping down all of the walls so they could apply another coat.
There are tons of empty bags of powdered drywall mud in the garage...
...and buckets of wet mud just waiting to be slathered on the walls.
Here is the color of the exterior stucco when it's wet. Surprisingly, we are rather fond of this color & we are currently trying to decide what color the outside of the house will be. I don't think this color photographed especially well.
Today, Dana & I met with a consultant from the lighting store. We went from room to room and told the consultant what the room was, whether or not it needed a ceiling fan and what our preference for color or style was. She used this clever little tool to measure the ceiling height in order to make sure that the fixtures don't hang too low. Now she will put together some suggestions for each room and email us some pics so we have the field narrowed down a bit.
I keep my icky old rainboots in the back of the Rover so that I can change out of my work shoes to walk around the messy construction zone. Yesterday I happened to have on this red shirt & had to tuck my pants into the rainboots so they didn't drag the ground. Dale & Dana were so impressed with my color-coordinated outfit they made Shane take my pic.
I promise that I didn't leave the house looking like this...I just couldn't stand the thought of getting my peep-toe heels all covered in white drywall dust.
