Pretty great birthday treat, huh?
I suspect they will finish mudding the walls on Monday-they are almost done.
Here's the living room: the archway leads to the laundry, mother-in-law suite, powder bath, mud area & garage. The doorway is the wine room.
Here's the inside of the wine room. It will have cabinets on the left side and two windows on the right wall that will allow you to peek into the wine room from the staircase. Or out of the wine room onto the staircase.
Moving to the right a bit-in this pic you have the wine room again, to the right of that is the front entryway, then the office. Then you see the kitchen, with the archway leading to the studio & pantry.
...and here's another view of the kitchen. You might be able to see the electrical cables for the above & below cabinet lighting.
...and this picture is still looking at the kitchen, but it's a little more to the right with a view of the harvest room & the windows & door to the back patio.
When I took the pics above I didn't realize it, but basically it's a 360 degree view of the downstairs living area.
Here you can see that they have put the bullnose corners around the tub area. We think they are going to have to jackhammer the floor out of that tub area. I guess you don't have to be exact with the plumbing if you have a drop-in tub, but our master tub is a clawfoot-so they needed to be exact with where the pipes come up through the floor.
Oops.
The doorway to the left of the tub is the master bedroom & to the right of the tub is a linen closet.
Upstairs, here's a pic of the game room taken from the back corner. Near the left of the pic is the door to the balcony; the boards in the floor are covering the yet-to-be-engineered hole in the floor; the large opening is the doorway to the hall and to the right is where the bar area will be.
Can you see all of the double rectangle holes up near the ceiling? That's where the wiring for some of the TV's will go. Yes, I meant to say "some".
Here's where the wet bar will be, just to the right of the entrance to the game room.
Out back, the yard is still a mess.
...but the back patio is looking pretty great-they've applied the second coat of stucco.
You might be able to see Shane peeking through the door; he's standing in the living room.
...and in the hallway near the garage is the "mud" area where we will have some coat hooks and cubbies for our everyday coats & bags. Well, I'm not sure what Shane would put there on an everyday basis, but it will be nice to have an out-of-the-way place for all of my bags.
If all goes as planned, we might have some tile floors installed by next weekend!
