Before the sod, landscaper, or guttering crew can get to work, the sprinkler crew has to come dig a network of tunnels.
The sprinkler guys are also in charge of the "tight-lines"...tight-lines are these black tubes that will catch the rainwater from the gutters and run it out into the street.
Hopefully, this will prevent us having a swamp-yard like Minnie & her short little legs hate.
Some of the neighbors were surprised that they dug out the clay and brought in topsoil, that hadn't happen in their yards and they are having trouble getting the sod to grow. Here's what the clay inside the tunnels looks like. I can see why the grass would have trouble with this.
Inside, the wood floor guys came and hand scraped the floors. These will look fabulous when they are stained and they will help to mask any scratches or wear & tear on the floors. I'm also hoping that the texture will help Minnie get some better traction.
They did three sample stains for us; all very similar, but we are using the darker one called Antique Brown.
Also, a cleaning crew was there today and some furniture was dropped off to stage the living areas.
In this pic, you can see that the fridge has been unwrapped.
By the end of the day, the painters had wrapped everything again to do some touch-up painting.
The mirrors have been installed; at least some of them have.
The electrician still needs to come back...
...and the tile guys were supposed to come today, but they didn't make it.
This morning, Shane & I made a "to-do" list of things that still needed to be completed. It was two pages long. Although a lot of work was going on today, I'm not sure anything was really completed enough to be crossed off the list.
Tomorrow workers are going to be crawling all over each other like ants at a picnic...
