A Strong Foundation

Today it's cold, dry and sunny so the foundation was finally poured. I was pretty excited to see the pumper truck pump the concrete to the back of the house, so during a break this afternoon I snuck over to take a peek. Lucky for me, the new house is only 5 minutes from work.

As I was pulling into the neighborhood I found myself behind a concrete truck and I was just certain it was headed to our house.

Thus began the picture taking for today...

I was correct and arrived just in time to see the concrete being poured where our office will sit. But sadly, they had already rinsed out the pumper truck and I didn't get any pictures of it in action.

I did, however, get plenty of other pictures. Sixty to be exact. I would have posted this blog earlier if there had been fewer pictures to sort through. Or if Shane would have let me post all of them...

I guess somebody has to be the voice of reason...

He seems to think the workers would have preferred to work without being photographed, but I didn't hear any complaints.

When Shane drove by on his way home from work it was already dark outside, but there were still people working. He said temporary lights were up and the slab was being covered so the concrete could cure.

Too bad the camera was with me and we didn't get any pictures of our new house being tucked in for the night.
