A Busy, Busy Day

We selected and ordered lights for the house about a month ago and found out this week that the master bathroom lights-some of my favorites that we picked out are backordered until late June.  This is only a problem because the parade starts on the 11th of June and we need lights. So, today we did some more light shopping.  Our other choices seemed to be:  A) awful, B)  run-of-the-mill, C) so-so,  D) special-order-&-might-not-be-here-in-time-either, or E) ridiculously expensive.

Finally, after visiting every store in Tulsa that sells lights, including Lowe's and Home Depot, we found two sets of lights that are useable, but just okay.

At this point, I think we'll just choose the least expensive set.

On to other matters...this whole bedroom paint color just has us baffled.  I painted a piece of drywall so I could take it with me when I'm shopping for bedroom fabrics, etc.  Shane told me this was pointless and it wouldn't show the true color, but you just won't believe this.

Here is the drywall piece I painted sitting outside on the concrete patio.  It looks exactly the color of the concrete, doesn't it?

But oddly, once it was applied to the walls and ceiling, it becomes a lovely shade of periwinkle.

Crazy, isn't it?

I mean, I'm all for one-of-a-kind things...but I never would have thought I get Shane to agree to a periwinkle/lavender/blue master bedroom (& bathroom, & closet, & laundry)!

We do like it, it's just...different.

Alright, now I'm going to be short with my words because I have 13 minutes before we have to leave to meet friends for dinner & I'm still not ready!

What has been tiled in the master shower:

Master Closet:

Upstairs bath...there was some miscommunication (several miscommunications) about this tile...they've had to pull some out...

Mudroom "lockers"-this is where I can dump my bags when I come in the house...Shane will be thrilled that they aren't at the dining table (me too).

Living room with all of the paper pulled off the trim pieces:

Hallway outside the wine room.  We still need two light fixtures for here, too.  I'm about to just hang some flashlights there...we are having no luck at all with these lights.

Inside the wine room:

Looking at the front door:

As we left the house, Shane snapped a couple of pictures looking through the front door.

Okay, we also picked out doorknobs and cabinet knobs and pulls today.  We hope they will arrive in time, some are special order & they say to allow 2-3 weeks.  The parade starts 3 weeks from today.

Sorry for any typographical errors, I'll have to check later, I'm down to 3 minutes before we need to leave & I've still got to get ready!
